Client & Requirement
Sightsavers work to eliminate avoidable blindness and promote the rights of people with disabilities.
They required a bespoke presentation solution for their Accessibility Standards and Audit pack; a step-by-step guidance pack on how to plan, train a team and undertake an audit, then report on and implement improvements.
The pack was required to house several audit tools including workbooks, a USB and tape measure.

Kirsty - Sightsavers
Paper over board projects provide opportunities to work and collaborate with great organisations and people. Our recent project, partnering the Sightsavers’ online and design team, is one such cooperation.
Sightsavers came to us with a clear understanding of what they wanted to achieve, supported by some concept drawings. The contents of the pack were decided, and Sightsavers wanted to produce a carry case style presentation box. A huge emphasis was placed on the overall product being user friendly.
We responded by sending through a series of job examples that highlighted key specification points of the suggested solution – examples of paper over board, folding box board and high density foam display trays. That sample set enabled Sightsavers to refine and communicate back close to final specification.
Plain samples were designed, CAD cut and sent. On approval, a PDF artwork template for the main carry case was drawn-up for the Sightsaver’s design team to set artwork.
Whilst the creative for the main carry case was being worked on, focus turned to ensuring the accuracy of the high density foam tray. Having been sent the measuring tape, pen, USB and layout guide; each item was measured and profiled, enabling the three apertures within the foam tray to precisely routed. With the foam tray sampled and confirmed, a folding box board tray was created to house it.
With each element approved; production and printing work was started, along with the commission of new cutting dies for all board elements. Whilst we waited for materials and tools to arrive, we printed and manufactured the Slipboard.
We would like to take credit for creating a new product type, the name was all Sightsavers. A slipboard is a clipboard without a clip; the paper slips, rather than clips, onto the board. The clear pocket is deliberately stopped short of the full width; making it easier to locate for those with impaired vision.
More paper over board products can be seen in our presentation box pages.
